دارفور

كانت دارفور مملكة إسلامية مستقلة حكمها عدد من السلاطين كان آخرهم وأشهرهم علي دينار. كان الإقليم يحكم في ظل حكومة فيدرالية يحكم فيها زعماء القبائل مناطقهم حتى سقوط هذا النظام خلال الحكم العثماني.

وقد قاوم أهل درافور الحكم العثماني الذي دام 10 سنوات، وقامت خلال هذه الفترة عدة ثورات من أشهرها ثورة هارون التي قضى عليها غردون باشا عام 1877م، وعند قيام الثورة المهدية سارع الأمراء لمبايعة المهدي ومناصرته حتى نالت دافور استقلالها بعد نجاح الثورة المهدية. ولم يدم استقلال الإقليم طويلا حيث سقط مجدداً تحت حكم المهدية عام 1884م الذي وجد مقاومة عنيفة حتى سقطت المهدية عام 1898م، فعاد السلطان علي دينار ليحكم دارفور.

وعند اندلاع الحرب العالمية الأولى أيد سلطان دارفور الدولة العثمانية التي كانت تمثل مركز الخلافة الإسلامية؛ الأمر الذي أغضب حاكم عام السودان، وأشعل العداء بين السلطنة والسلطة المركزية، والذي كانت نتيجته الإطاحة بسلطنة دارفور وضمها للسودان البريطاني عام 1917م



Darfur was an independent Islamic kingdom ruled by a number of sultans, the last of whom was Ali Dinar. The territory was governed by a federal government ruled by tribal leaders until the fall of the regime under Ottoman rule.

The people of Darfur resisted the Ottoman rule, which lasted 10 years, and during this period several revolutions, most notably the revolution of Haroun, which was spent by Gordon Pasha in 1877, and at the time of the revolution Mahdia princes to pledge allegiance to the Mahdi and his support until it gained independence after the success of the revolution Mahdia. The independence of the region did not last long, and it fell again under the rule of Mahdia in 1884, which found violent resistance until the fall of Mahdia in 1898, and returned to the Sultan Ali Dinar to govern Darfur.

At the outbreak of the First World War, the Sultan of Darfur supported the Ottoman Empire, which was the center of the Islamic Caliphate. This angered the Governor of Sudan and ignited hostility between the Sultanate and the Central Authority, which resulted in the overthrow of the Sudan and annexation of the British Sudan in 1917
